Ticketing Service Now Available March 2, 2004 COLLEGE PARK, Md. - A new service is now available to University of Maryland fans that will allow them to go on the internet to order and renew tickets for a number of sports, athletics department officials said today. Fans can log on to www.UMTerps.com to access an online ticketing service, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. This will enable fans to log on from anywhere in the world to ensure their ticket orders are being processed and handled as soon as possible. According to Assistant Athletics Director Greg Schiller, there were $40,000 worth of football ticket renewal orders received in the first 48 hours the system had been in place. Online operations began on Saturday, according to Schiller. "We're excited to be able to provide this opportunity to our fans," said Senior Associate Athletics Director Larry Leckonby. "We're striving to offer the best customer service possible to Terrapin fans everywhere, and this is an aspect of customer service that many of our fans have asked for." Football season-ticket holders can go online to renew their tickets at this time. New football season-ticket orders and single-game orders for home or away games can also be made. Single-game tickets for Maryland baseball, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse are also now available online. In addition, any postseason basketball events involving Maryland's men's or women's teams will be available for online ticketing. Fans are encouraged to check the website often for updates and information. Fans wishing to use the system should go to www.umterps.com and select "Tickets" from the top of the front page. Those fans who have purchased tickets from the Terrapin Ticket Office should follow the steps to activate their account, while others should create an account. For questions or problems, fans should call the Terrapin Ticket Office at 301-314-7070 or 800-462-TERP. Article published by: Maryland
