WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC FINAL AT PETCO PARK SOLD OUT
Approximately 1,000 Tickets Remain Available For Saturday’s Semi-Final Games  
 
San Diego, CA -- Tickets for the Final of the inaugural World Baseball Classic at PETCO Park are sold out, Major League Baseball and the San Diego Padres announced today.  The club also announced that less than 1,000 tickets remain for the first Semi-Final on Saturday, March 18 at 12:00 noon and only obstructed view tickets remain for the virtually sold out second Semi-Final at 7:00 p.m.
 
“The San Diego Padres and PETCO Park are extremely proud to host the Semi-Finals and Final game of the inaugural World Baseball Classic,” said Padres CEO Sandy Alderson.  “The event has grabbed the attention of fans worldwide and both the Padres and PETCO Park are thrilled to join baseball’s best teams in the spotlight for such a tremendous event.”

The World Baseball Classic, a 16-team tournament sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), features many of the best players in the world competing for their home countries and territories for the first time.   The tournament, which began March 3 and runs until March 20, moves on to Round 2 action on Sunday in Anaheim, CA and San Juan, Puerto Rico.  The eight teams that have advanced are Japan, Korea, Mexico, United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
 
The remaining tickets available can be purchased online at padres.com, via telephone at 1-877-FRIARTIX, at the Advance Ticket Windows at PETCO Park and at the Padres store in Tijuana, Mexico.   Fans south of the border can call 1-800-626-0026 to order tickets.  Prices for the remaining tickets to the World Baseball Classic Semi-Finals range from $15 (Park Passes) to $60 (Field Reserved).
 
In addition, tickets for the Championship game as well as the two Semi-Finals are available on the Padres Ticket Marketplace, a secure online secondary sales market sponsored by Major League Baseball.  The Ticket Marketplace is located on www.worldbaseballclassic.com.
