TICKETSWEST PICKS PACIOLAN FOR SOFTWARE

TicketsWest has chosen Paciolan to provide new software for its ticketing systems for all its venues and clients. Under the deal, TicketsWest will begin transitioning all of its clients over to the new software system, beginning with its West Coast venues. TicketsWest President Jack Lucas said the entire transfer is expected to take about nine months.

“When we began this process several years ago, we wanted to explore the options of a new platform and realized we could either develop it ourselves or look at what’s out there,” Lucas said. “We chose Paciolan because they’re well thought of and well known and put out a very good product. It makes sense to put software development into the hands of someone who does it 24/7.”

TicketsWest handles ticketing for a number of theatres and fairgrounds mostly in California, the Pacific Northwest and Colorado. Lucas said the new software will replace the company’s old DOS-based platform with a more modern point-and-click interface. The new software will be rolled out in approximately five phases with West Coast venues being switched over first.

“There are only a couple ticketing companies who have been around as long as Paciolan and TicketsWest and we think this will help us continue to grow our business and be as successful as we currently are. This really provides TicketsWest the ability to be very competitive in any building and in any market,” Lucas said.

The deal also brings together TicketsWest and Comcast-Spectacor, which owns management company Global Spectrum. Comcast-Spectator is a large investor in Paciolan and uses the ticketing platform to power its own ticketing application New Era tickets.

“This deal is good for all parties involved and shows that with the right software platform, venues can set their own ticketing destiny,” said Paciolan President Dave Butler.
