Downtown Arena Is a Hot Ticket

Bloomington, IL. - Bloomington’s new downtown arena is already becoming a hot ticket almost a year in advance.

Crews at U.S. Cellular Coliseum are finishing up construction and booking entertainment shows for next summer.

All 24 suites in the arena are already sold out.

Plus, 600 of the 800 VIP club seats have been filled.

Officials say the arena’s progress is getting more people excited.

Melissa Ash, spokeswoman for the coliseum, said, “So, we heard a lot of the negative things, it’s not going to go over well and that stuff. So, for us to be this far, this early is wonderful. And, we haven’t even named the football or hockey team yet.”

Some of the shows to expect at the new arena include:

Disney on Ice coming in April or May of 2006

Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus should hit town in July of 2006.
