Phillies seal ticketing solutions contract The Philadelphia Phillies have signed a seven-year
contract with Paciolan for all ticketing technology, including providing
the interface between the team’s official web site and MLB’s
web site. “We looked at other options, but Paciolan’s business model most closely matched ours. Paciolan’s ticketing solution allows us to continue managing our own ticketing operation,” said Jerry Clothier, senior vice president/CFO of the Philadelphia Phillies. Under the agreement with the Phillies, Paciolan will provide a back office solution for the Phillies’ ticketing operation through its reserved seat ticketing software package, which supports single-event, series, box office and phone sales processing. Paciolan will implement the ticketing system and interface during the off-season in preparation for ticket sales beginning with the Phillies’ 2002 Spring Training games. Paciolan’s interface between the Phillies in-house ticketing operation and the MLB site enables ticket sales in real-time, so fans can access the same ticket inventory whether they purchase tickets online, at the Veterans Stadium ticket office or through the Phillies’ phone center. “We saw Paciolan’s system in operation at the Rockies and Diamondbacks, and we were pleased with its performance. Paciolan delivered what their people promised,” said Clothier. “We’re thrilled that the Phillies have joined other MLB teams in managing their own ticketing operation with our software. They truly embrace the ‘control your own destiny’ business model that our ticketing solutions enable,” said Jane Kleinberger, chief executive officer of Paciolan. “Signing us to a multi-year deal is a
statement of confidence in the direction we’re taking our technology,”
she said, adding that web-based offerings such as print-at-home tickets,
web-based phone order entry and digital ticket transfer are among the
technologies Paciolan has in the pipeline. |
