Paciolan to Acquire Largest PACT3000 Customer, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts

DCPA will Upgrade to Paciolan’s Ticketing and e-Commerce Technology
Irvine, Calif. (7/25/2001)

Paciolan today announced that it will acquire the PACT3000 performing arts ticketing solution and installed base of 32 performing arts centers, ballets, symphonies and theatres in the U.S. and Canada. Under the terms of the agreement, Paciolan will support the PACT3000 customers for a minimum of two years, as well as offer them upgrades to Paciolan’s ticketing and e-commerce technology.

The PACT3000 system was acquired in May 2001 by The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, parent company of Broadway touring presenter Denver Center Attractions and the Tony Award-winning Denver Center Theatre Company. The Center is also ticketing provider for Colorado Ballet, Colorado Symphony, Opera Colorado and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. The Center will transfer ownership to Paciolan later this month.

The acquisition was announced this morning at the annual PACT3000 user’s group meeting in New York.

"Our priority was to identify a stable company to maintain and support the DCPA's ticketing system and other PACT3000 users," said Lester Ward, president of The Denver Center for the Performing Arts. "Paciolan has spent more than two decades serving the live event ticketing industry and is committed to helping venues become more successful. Our organization has already decided to upgrade to Paciolan's ticketing and e-commerce technology, and I predict that many PACT3000 users will follow our lead."

“We welcome the PACT3000 customers to Paciolan, and look forward to transitioning these organizations to the Paciolan technology,” said Jane Kleinberger, Paciolan’s chief executive officer. “It is extremely validating to have a prestigious organization like The Denver Center for the Performing Arts recognize Paciolan’s unique value proposition. Paciolan’s ticketing solutions are designed to make venues—not distributors or middlemen—more successful by building stronger brand identity and customer relationships.”

Several PACT3000 Users Upgrade to Paciolan The Denver organization, the largest PACT3000 customer, will install Paciolan’s ticketing solution and online e-commerce interface, e.Venue™, later this year. The Center chose to upgrade for several reasons.

“We are dedicated to providing our customers the top-flight service that they expect from one of the country’s largest performing arts organizations,” said Maureen Andersen, treasurer and director of ticketing services at The Denver Center for the Performing Arts. “Using Paciolan’s technology, we will be able to provide multiple service channels so that patrons are free to interact with us at their convenience. We intend to take full advantage of Paciolan’s Internet interface and attendant-free ticketing kiosks.”

The Denver Center, which sells approximately 1.5 million tickets annually, will use e.Venue to sell tickets and merchandise through the Center’s web site and on-site kiosks. The Center will also install Paciolan’s fundraising module, which is integrated with the e-commerce and ticketing solutions. Other PACT3000 users that have switched to Paciolan include the San Francisco Ballet, Globe Theatre and Mississauga Living Arts Center.
