Paciolan Facilitates
Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center 's Lion King On-Sale Success The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (TBPAC) successfully launched a “midnight madness” pre-sale of tickets for Disney's THE LION KING® and sold approximately $200,000 tickets in six hours via e.Venue®, Paciolan's e-commerce ticketing, fundraising and marketing solution. "Within a 24-hour period, we achieved almost a million dollars in ticket sales through a combination of the Internet (via e.Venue) and our box office windows (via Paciolan's t.Res software). There was no hesitation in the system performance, even when all selling avenues were opened," said Steve Hacker, TBPAC's director of information services. TBPAC promoted the midnight madness Internet pre-sale on their website, www.tbpac.org, one week before the event. In addition, their phone operators directed ticket buyers to their website. Patrons also were notified via phone, regular mail and e-mail announcements. TBPAC also attributes their success to word of mouth. As more people heard about the Internet pre-sale, they informed their friends and relatives about ordering tickets online. "You cannot be 100 % prepared for the initial ticket sale of such a popular event, but Paciolan's solutions helped us manage the large volume of sales, allowing us to better serve our customers," said Tony Walters, TBPAC director of ticket operations.
