Paciolan Enables Faster Ticket Sales With IBM eServer
Irvine, Calif. (6/2/2003)

Paciolan, Inc., a leading provider of online ticketing technology, has chosen IBM eServer™ p650 systems to increase ticket sale processing speed. Following completion of a thorough benchmark analysis, IBM has projected that Paciolan’s clients will have the ability to process more than 100,000 tickets per hour. The company will use the IBM systems to support its growth as a ticketing technology provider to arenas, professional sports, college athletics, performing arts, and museums.

Paciolan enables venues such as the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas to sell tickets directly to their audience, bypassing third-party ticket distributors. From rodeos to rock concerts, Paciolan’s software running on IBM UNIX servers and IBM UniVerse have helped fill the seats in record time for the Thomas & Mack Center.

“When you’re selling tickets for a major act, you have to be able to cope with awesome demand, and that requires ultra-powerful servers,” said Daren Libonati, executive director of the Thomas & Mack Center. The new IBM systems allow us to serve our customers quickly and accurately, which is the first step in providing an unmatched entertainment experience.”

“Paciolan understands that scalability is the key to a powerful IT infrastructure,” said Karl Freund, vice president, IBM eServer pSeries. “The IBM eServer pSeries systems give Paciolan the ability to handle the largest venues in the business.”

Paciolan’s web-based services allow consumers to purchase, exchange, transfer, resell and donate tickets online directly through a sports team or entertainment venue’s branded website. Paciolan enables in-house and online ticket sales and fundraising, and digital ticket validation at the door.
