Starlight Theatre Partners With Paciolan to Offer Digital Ticketing, Online
Fundraising and Electronic Access Paciolan, a leading digital ticketing enabler, and the Starlight Theatre – the second largest theatre in the United States and the largest and oldest performing arts organization in Kansas City – announced their partnership today to offer digital ticketing, fundraising, and electronic access to their patrons. Starlight Theatre patrons are now able to buy best-available tickets, pledge donations and instantly receive tickets online anytime at www.kcstarlight.com. Paciolan provides tailored ticketing, fundraising, and marketing solutions that enable large entertainment venues to sell and manage their own tickets — eliminating the need for third-party distributors. By adopting “in-house” solutions, venues maintain exclusive control of their customer relationships, brand and revenue. Paciolan’s integrated solution enables the Starlight Theatre to offer an online box office (e.Venue) marketing single tickets, subscriptions/series tickets, subscription renewals, and donations via Starlight’s branded website. “Our goal was to make it easier for patrons to do business with us twenty-four/seven, while reducing operating costs within the ticketing department.” states Bob Rohlf, President & Executive Producer, Starlight Theatre. “Our Internet sales have doubled in four months and we recently sold 37% of all single tickets online for our Will Rogers Follies Broadway show.” In addition to digital ticketing and online donations, Paciolan has implemented an admissions control system (Access Management). Access Management tracks attendance and validates tickets through turnstiles or handheld scanners at each entrance, extending Starlight’s ticketing system to the gate. “We want to track audience entrance patterns and no-shows.” states Rohlf, “By tracking patterns, we better serve our patrons with greeters, merchandise and concessions stands staged at high traffic entrances. We plan to utilize no-show data to encourage patrons to transfer tickets online that might otherwise go unused.” With Access Management, the Starlight Theater now offers print-at-home tickets to their patrons. “Patrons appreciate the convenience of making a purchase and receiving the product (the ticket) immediately.” states Rohlf, “Our patrons want it, appreciate it, and understand it. The proof: 41% of our “Beauty and the Beast” online patrons chose print-at-home tickets during our July performances.” The Starlight Theatre partnered with a major donor to help choose and fund the technology. By involving their donor throughout the software evaluation process, and seeing the benefits first hand, the Starlight Theatre was able to secure full funding for the technology upgrade. The Starlight Theatre joins Theatre Under the Stars and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in offering online ticketing, donations and/or electronic access to their patrons.
