State University Partners With Paciolan to Offer Digital Tickets to Students
and Fans - Allowing Access to
Events with Student ID and Fan Loyalty Cards Paciolan, a leading digital ticketing enabler, and The Ohio State University – 2002 NCAA Division I National Football Champions – announced today they have strengthened their 18-year partnership to enable paperless digital ticketing, web-based ticket management and fan loyalty programs for students and fans. The Ohio State University (OSU) is the first college athletic program to offer digital tickets and the transfer of ticket ownership via the venue. OSU joins the following Paciolan professional sports and performing arts clients that have committed to secondary ticketing: Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, Theatre Under the Stars and the American Musical Theatre of San Jose. Paciolan provides tailored ticket infrastructures that enable large entertainment venues to sell and manage their own tickets — eliminating the need for third-party distributors. By adopting “in-house” ticketing solutions, venues maintain exclusive control of their customer relationships, brand and revenue. With the addition of digital tickets, Buckeye fans and students will no longer require paper tickets to attend events. Instead, fans will arrive at reserve seat and general admission events with their Student ID or ‘Go Bucks’ loyalty card that now acts as their ticket. OSU will scan the card to validate admission upon entry to the event. Fans will also have the ability to manage their ticket inventory on OSU’s website, www.hangonsloopy.com, including digitally transferring tickets to friends and family, thereby preventing no shows of valuable seats. “No more lines for tickets. Students now have direct access to events and no longer need to line up at the box office to purchase or pick up tickets.” states Richelle Simonson, OSU’s Associate Athletic Director. “In addition, Paciolan’s Access Management enables us to track and reward loyal attendance with priority seating. The more events students attend, the better their seats for basketball games. And for fans, alumni and donors, we’ll now give them the ability to transfer ticket ownership online.” “Immediately, digital tickets will alleviate the burden of manually processing and fulfilling ticket orders allowing OSU’s box office staff to focus on providing a higher level of customer service. But the real financial upsides are enabling fans to digitally transfer tickets and rewarding game-day attendance,” said John Hnanicek, Paciolan’s CEO. About Paciolan Representative customers include: University of Texas, University of Nebraska, Florida State University, Stanford, UCLA, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, American Museum of Natural History, Boston Ballet, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Toronto Symphony, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, National Aquarium in Baltimore, Dover Downs Entertainment, Inc. and Graceland Mansion Tours.
