The Ohio State University, Oregon State University, and West Virginia University Offer Online Group Sales and an Online Ticket Marketplace
Irvine, CA (10/8/2003)

Paciolan has further strengthened its long-term partnerships with The Ohio State University, Oregon State University, and West Virginia University by enabling online group sales and offering an online ticket marketplace. With these enhanced services, fans can easily participate in group events and have access to premium seats that would otherwise be unavailable.

Paciolan provides tailored ticketing, fundraising, and marketing solutions that enable large entertainment venues to sell and manage their own tickets — eliminating the need for third-party distributors. By adopting “in-house” solutions, venues maintain exclusive control of their customer relationships, brand and revenue.

Ticket Marketplace enables fans to buy and sell tickets through the university’s website. The online marketplace offers buyers access to premium inventory and rewards sellers with credit towards next season’s purchase. “We can now offer our alumni, and other select groups access to any available OSU inventory,” states Richelle Simonson, Ohio State University’s associate athletic director. “Additionally, by enabling our fans to buy and sell tickets through our website, www.hangonsloopy.com, we are able to eliminate the aggravation of dealing with scalpers or brokers.”

With the addition of an online marketplace, these universities have the ability to create relationships with new fans who purchase tickets online. The marketplace also encourages season ticket holder retention by enabling fans to sell unused tickets, thereby offsetting their initial season ticket investment.

By utilizing Group Ticket Window, organizations can invite fans to easily participate in group events and purchase discount tickets. “This group sales tool will allow us to serve every fan that participates in a group event, not just the group leader who traditionally purchases the tickets,” states Matt Arend, ticket manager, Oregon State University. “Now we can build upon the relationships with our fans and enhance each fan’s experience.”

West Virginia University is utilizing online group sales to offer over 50 groups the ability to easily purchase discount tickets online. “We decided to offer Group Ticket Window as a new and unique way for us to promote our group packages,” states Matt Wells, assistant director of sports marketing, West Virginia University. “We feel that we will be able to reach more fans by offering the convenience and flexibility of online group sales. In addition, this tool will allow us to eliminate the hassle of manually selling and processing group tickets by automating the payment and tracking processes.”
