For Immediate Release San Diego Padres Meet Heavy Demand for Playoff Ticketing Irvine, CA (10/18/2006) - Paciolan announced today that the San Diego Padres sold out the first two games of their playoff series with the St. Louis Cardinals on September 30, with the exception of scattered single seats. The event on-sale began at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, selling more than 8,500 tickets during the first 15 minutes of the event. The heaviest 5 minute span realized average transaction rates of 817 tickets per minute. "We're pleased with both the demand created by our loyal fans as well as our ability to manage that demand," said Jim Kiersnowski, Executive Director of Ticket Operations at the San Diego Padres. The Padres kicked off the National League Division Series with the St. Louis Cardinals on October 3 after winning their second straight National League West Division title on the last day of the regular season. The Cardinals won the series and are playing the New York Mets for the National League Championship.
