Paciolan Football Season Renewal Program Scores Big with Clients

Client renewal rates reach 42% for participating colleges increasing their online revenue and decreasing costs

Irvine, CA (June 16, 2006) - Paciolan announced today the results of its 2006 Football Season Renewals program. Nearly 40% of Paciolan’s college athletics clients participated in a closely managed effort to successfully sell season renewals for the 2006 football season. Paciolan partnered with clients to design and execute this online effort which collectively increased online season renewal transactions nearly 14% over last season and generated over 123,000 total online renewals. The program ran from early February through late June.

Colleges relied on the power of Paciolan’s email marketing system, PACMail, which is fully integrated with the core ticketing system. Graphically rich emails communicated the start of the 2006 football season renewal program. Subsequently another email was sent reminding season ticket holders to renew as well as a final reminder hours before the season renewal deadline approached. Prior to using PACMail, most clients relied largely on standalone, text-based bulk-mail to promote season renewals which generated significantly lower response and online renewal rates.

“We benefited from a successful combination of the right incentive and timely communication,” said Dan Meyer, Director of Ticket Operations at Washington State University. “Email marketing, courtesy of PACMail, was instrumental in streamlining our renewal process for our first-time online users. Equally important, our high online adoption rates helped us reduce what was once a cumbersome, manual process into a seamless, automated effort.” In their first year implementing online renewals, 58% of their season ticket holders renewed online. Key to Washington State’s success was offering bonus priority points for online renewals and sending effective emails.

“Not only are we thrilled about streamlining our renewal process but our season ticket holders also benefited from the convenience of online renewals,” said Kent Hegenauer, Manager of Ticket Operations at the University of South Carolina. In their first year implementing online renewals, nearly one third of their season ticket holders renewed their tickets online.

“Key to our success was tying discounted ticket incentives to the offer which were tracked by our ticketing system”, said Scott McLaren, Director of Sales, Marketing and Ticket Operations at Georgia Tech. “By closely working with Paciolan, we realized an online season renewal rate of 55% which is 10% higher than 2005.” Georgia Tech offered discounts on order fees and prizes to drive their season ticket holders online.

"Paciolan continues to successfully partner with its college athletics clients to help them meet their goals and objectives,” said Dave Butler, CEO of Paciolan. “Paciolan’s fully integrated email marketing system enables our clients to drive online season renewals and build loyalty amongst their most profitable fans – season ticket holders.”
