PAC Gets Personal: Sanjana Gupta
Meet Sanjana Gupta
Meet Sanjana Gupta, just three months in and already making an impression at Paciolan.
Having graduated from Cal State Fullerton in December 2016 with an expansive triple major in entertainment and tourism management, marketing, and information systems, Sanjana Gupta is proving to be the all-around perfect fit for Paciolan.
What interested you about working for Paciolan in the marketing automation sector?
As a Digital Marketing Specialist, I knew I would receive the opportunity to work with marketing and data analytics within the industry I was interested in, so it is a perfect fit for me. What interested me the most was the company culture because everyone in the company was so friendly and welcoming when I came for my interview. Three months in and I can say that nothing has changed. My desk is right outside (President and COO) Kim Damron’s office and everyone is very accessible.
Do you continue to use utilize the knowledge you gained with your triple major in college to your current role with marketing automation?
I most definitely use what I learned in college. When I was at Cal State Fullerton I worked a lot with data and marketing and was very involved in student organizations. Many of our clients are college athletics so everything is very relatable.
Just three months into the job, you’ve already traveled to Cincinnati and trained our clients at the Cincinnati Arts Association on marketing automation. What was that experience like?
It was a great experience. I was nervous but the team is very supportive and encouraging. Kyle Murphy, director of FanOne Marketing Services, was there with me during the first day of training to provide support. Given it was my first on-site training, his expertise was valuable for not only the client but for me as well. I was also able to learn more about our clients and their business model which was spectacular.
Did you have any free time to explore the city?
Yes! The CAA Team had some great recommendations for things I must do while I am here. They took me to Skyline Chili and Graeter’s Ice Cream, which are very famous in Cincinnati. I also had some time to explore the Smale Riverfront Park and much more.
What do you like most about working with FanOne marketing automation?
This is tough because I love every aspect of being part of the FanOne team. Everyone is very encouraging and we all have a great time launching new campaigns and implementing new clients. We are always coming to each other with campaign examples and questions. The team itself has been one of the main reasons I have been successful in my role thus far.
What does being part of the Paciolan team mean to you?
Being part of the Paciolan team is very inspiring. The leadership is continuously accomplishing goals and leaving an impact in the industry as a whole. During breaks, as well as company outings, I get to interact with other employees in the company and to hear about their journey at Paciolan is very inspiring. Everyone speaks very highly of the management and company culture that has helped them maintain a work and personal life balance.
What is one piece of advice you have been given that has helped you as a young professional in the business world?
Although I have received a lot of advice that has helped me grow, one statement that has been most beneficial in this role is: “Ask when you are unsure and sometimes even when you are.”
I have many times answered my own question by saying it out loud to a co-worker so I think it is important to keep the curiosity alive within us — especially when we are settling into a new role. I’ve always been told there is no such thing as a stupid question and I could not agree more.
Is Paciolan the right fit for you? We are hiring! Keep an eye on our LinkedIn page for opportunities to join the team.
