AI in Oracle Eloqua is here, and it’s ready to elevate your email marketing strategy. Whether you're a PAC Mail or Marketing Automation client, Oracle Eloqua now offers powerful predictive and generative AI features to help you work smarter, not harder.
Predictive vs. Generative AI: What are the Differences?
Before we dive in, let’s break down the two core types of AI features available in Eloqua:
Generative AI assists in creating content, such as subject lines and email copy, based on the prompts you provide.
Predictive AI helps you make informed, data-driven decisions to fine-tune your strategy.
Let’s take a closer look at what each can do for your team.
Generative AI Features
Subject Line Generation
Need help crafting the perfect subject line? Input a purpose and email topic, and Eloqua will generate five subject line options. Save time while experimenting with different tones and styles.

Content Generation
Writer’s block? Let Eloqua take the lead. Eloqua’s Content Generation feature generates tailored content based on your prompt, including purpose, tone, and formality. Utilize this feature in emails, landing pages, dynamic content*, and shared content*.
*Note: Content Generation for dynamic and shared content is only available in the Redwood editors. These must be enabled to access this functionality.
Predictive AI Features
Send Time Optimization
Send Time Optimization uses historical engagement data to determine the best time to reach each individual contact. This model updates in near real-time based on engagement with your content. You can customize optimization by time of day or by time of day and day of week. Use this model to increase engagement rates by contacting people when they’re most likely to open an email.

Fatigue Analysis
Let Fatigue Analysis help you determine how often you should email your contacts. This model assigns a fatigue level to each contact based on their recent interactions. This model is updated weekly and stored as a contact field. Use it for segmentation, lead scoring, or campaign decision steps to avoid over-communication.
Understanding Fatigue Analysis Levels in Eloqua
Here's a breakdown of the different fatigue levels and what they mean:
Inactive
This is the default fatigue level. These contacts have not opened or received an email in the past 45 days, or they’re brand new to your database with no engagement history yet.
Undersaturated
You’re reaching these contacts, but not often enough to get a read on their fatigue level. They're opening emails occasionally, but the activity is too low to confidently classify them as “engaged.”
Just Right
This is the engagement sweet spot. You’re sending the right number of emails, and your audience is responding well. Contacts in this group are interacting consistently and staying engaged.
Saturated
These contacts are starting to show signs of fatigue, with declining engagement that suggests they may be receiving too many emails. This level is further broken down into low, medium, and high saturation, helping you monitor how close they are to disengaging.
Oversaturated
Engagement is dropping significantly, and these contacts are at a risk of tuning out or unsubscribing. Like Saturated, Oversaturated levels are categorized as low, medium, and high, indicating the severity of potential fatigue and disengagement.
By paying attention to these fatigue levels, you can fine-tune your email strategy to better meet your audience’s needs, delivering the right message, at the right time, to the right people.
